Main Job Duties: Candidate will be responsible to support the department's goals and provide support to: ? Analyze patents to assess applicability to standards and products. ? Develop procedures to demonstrate patent infringement, supervise testing, and analyze test results. ? Help develop IP strategies. ? Study technology trends in the industry. ? Recommend technical directions of Qualcomm's various engineering and product groups.
Required Knowledge: ? An extensive depth and breadth of technical experience with WLAN (802.11), 4G (LTE), 3G (UMTS and 1x/DO), and GPS Systems. ? Knowledge of protocol layers (e.g. MAC, RLC/RLP, RRC, IP, IMS) for wireless systems. ? Experience in defining, implementing or testing standardized wireless technologies. ? Critical thinking and creative problem solving skills. ? Prior exposure to patents. ? Ability to conduct investigative research with minimum supervision. ? Ability and interest in learning new technologies quickly. ? Self-motivation and perseverance. ? Ability to communicate effectively with non-experts in the field. ? Flexibility to make quick adjustment in a fast-changing environment.
Required Experience: ? Must have 8 years coding experience in the embedded environment
Special Requirement: ? Ability to communicate effectively with non-experts and be a lead to driver project to complete successfully. ? Excellent communication skills including English.
Education: Required: Bachelor's, Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering Preferred: Master's, Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
