Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the analysis and selection of components and materials for new product development for the Modules and Subystems Portfolio within the Regeneration and Optical Routing System.
- Evaluates, analyzes, and selects reliable materials and components for new products and technologies.
- Evaluates the reliability of all materials, properties, techniques, and processes in new product design.
- Advises design engineering on the selection, application, and test of optical, mechanical, and electrical components and systems.
- Work with the Design Authority to determine reliability requirements of components and systems;
- Develops new acceleration techniques and analytical tools to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging and processes;
- Participate in customer specification and requirements review and then determine relevant reliability test plans based on project needs and also be responsible for the execution of tests and monitor progress of reliability and qualification program.
- Take the lead for related data collection and analysis and then produce formal reports for customers.
- Provide technical support during and after new design manufacture release, particularly technical support for failure analysis to manufacture engineering teams.
Qualifications:
- MS (material, optical, physics) with 4 years working experience or PhD with 2 years experience;
- Material science background essential;
- Experience with reliability techniques and analysis to qualify product reliability;
- Experience with advance testing techniques such as HALT/HASS;
- Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis;
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills;
- Self-motivated and directed to work with minimal supervision;
- Ability to think strategically across numerous product lines and good team member that gains the respect of others.
- Previous experience in global product development organizations a plus.
- Previous Telecommunications industry experience desirable.
- Proficient with Telcordia, IEC and MIL Standards strongly desired.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
