Job Title: Compensation Consultant (APAC)
Reports to: Director, Global Compensation
Subordinate: None
Working Location: Shanghai
Job Purpose:
- Ensures cost efficient and market-driven compensation procedures and standards in the APAC region
- Ensures that the Adient APAC Compensation practices remain in line with the market and the global Adient compensation practices
- Individual contributor
- Provide analytical support and consultancy to the region HRBPs
- Supports preparation and execution of annual compensation processes in the APAC region
Responsibilities
Compensation Expertise:
- Provides support based on solid knowledge of compensation-related topics and provides support in preparation and execution of annual compensation processes (e.g. salary surveys, salary planning and bonus administration)
- Under supervision, analyzes and monitors market trends to ensure compensation programs are competitive in the APAC region
- Manages the Adient participation in benchmarking salary surveys and maintains results files as support for compensation analysis requests
Compensation Analytics:
- Provides in-depth analytical services on topics such as, internal and external equity cost of labor, pay trends, recommendations on salary packages, salary increase guidelines, etc.
- Conducts job evaluation and grading activities, responding to the evolution of the business and the organization changes, and review benchmark positions accordingly
Compensation Consultancy:
- Consults with human resources business partners and managers on compensation actions to ensure alignment with policy and business objectives
- Provides analytical services on topics like internal and external equity, cost of labor, pay trends, recommendations on salary packages, salary increase guideline, etc.
Requirements:
- University degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 3 years of experience within all facets of broad-based compensation across APAC
- Knowledge of human resources principles, namely performance evaluation, payroll, and benefits
- Good technical skills and understanding of the legal, labor and economic environment of the APAC region
- Comfortable working toward deadlines, multi-tasking and operating in an environment with shifting priorities
- Ability to build partnerships with compensation team members, human resources partners and managers, even when they are in other parts of the world
- Demonstrated project management skills and discipline
- Ability to take responsibility for projects of small size with certain complexity or non-complex projects with bigger scope
- Act as a consultant and build relationships with HR generalists and support staff
- Advanced Excel skills and proficient experience with other Microsoft Office tools
- Understand data relationships in HR systems and data bases
