Bosch first launched the IoT- and AI-based agriculture solution “Plantect” in 2017 for the Japanese market. It is intended to create new business in the rapidly growing global smart agriculture field, which is in line with Bosch Group’s strategy to become a leading IoT company globally. The ‘Plantect’ project, targeting rapid expansion in the local and international market, is now seeking a suitable candidate for a local Business Development and Channel Manager role in the Chinese agriculture technology (‘AgTech’) market. Business Development and Channel Manager for Connected Agriculture Solutions

What’s in for you?

  • Introduce a new agriculture solution to increase quality and productivity in the horticulture market in China.
  • Establish new business fields for Bosch China with high growth potential utilizing a strong channel partner network.
  • Develop and implement a business strategy for Plantect in China in close collaboration with global teams of Bosch.

Your Responsibilities?

  • Responsible for identification and management of channel partners to facilitate the overall go-to-market strategy for “Plantect” in the Chinese horticulture market
  • Grow sales by cultivating local partnerships and developing new sales alliances suitable for the Chinese market
  • Develop and implement business development ideas, strategies and plans to successfully adopt “Plantect” in China
  • Own partner sales and opportunity management while maintaining profitable relationships
  • Lead and manage the technical liaison and discussion with local partners to support sales activities
  • Work closely with the regional and local management in the development of annual business plans and budgets as well as decision proposals for executive management at Bosch
  • This specifically includes regular interactions with? the Plantect and Bosch teams in China, Japan and Germany.?
  • Other relevant tasks / operational tasks necessary for local business development

Qualifications

What do you offer?

  • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant working experience and expertise in business development and/or channel management in the agriculture sector
  • Working experience and expertise in technical pre-sales in companies with agriculture focus of Electronics devices (IoT/Mobile/Sensors) for five (5) years or more
  • Experience in developing new sales channels and pipeline management
  • Proficient in negotiating and building new alliances with partners in the agriculture sector
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and high level of creativity as well as interest in technology and innovation are essential
  • Experienced in C-level interactions (internal and external), strong planning, execution and convincing skills
  • Self-motivated go-getter, requiring minimum supervision and ready to work in a challenging and dynamic environment; flexibility and can-do attitude are critical success factors especially in China
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English and Mandarin; Japanese and German would be a significant advantages
  • Pro-active and able to work effectively within multi-functional and cross-cultural teams across organizational and functional boundaries; ability to provide constructive feedback while respecting the local business and cultural environment
  • International work experience and availability to travel in the APAC region as and when required
