Job title: Commercial / Product Cost Manager

Reports to:  Asia Mechanisms Exec Dir

Working location: Shanghai

Job Purpose:

The successful Commercial / Product cost Manager (CPCM) will insure good financial decisions and consistent pricing. This includes responsibility for Business Planning, Product Costing, Product Pricing, JV interface and Customer Interface on financial issues.

Responsibilities:

• Manage product black box price (BBP) for the business, to be aligned with HQ, JV and customers

• Work with a complex bill of material to understand and cost a product.

• Work with a variety of manufacturing processes and related costs.

• Develop competitive pricing strategies.

• Benchmarking competitors’ products and prices

• Develop proformas for new manufacturing facilities.

• Attend project team meetings.

• Follow-up on open financial issues until they are resolved.

• Perform monthly financial updates for top management.

• Explain product costs to our Customer's Financial Analysts.

• Negotiate pricing

• Set cost targets for suppliers.

• Accomplish key financial measures.

• Initiate product cost reduction efforts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or Finance.  An education such as Engineering or Project Management will also be considered.

• An advanced Degree (MBA) and/or Professional Accreditation (CPA, CMA) is preferred.

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience related to Financial Management or Project Management in a Manufacturing environment.  Experience in the automotive business and metal/mechanisms products is a plus.

• Foreign language skills will be considered a significant benefit.

• Good computer skills.

• Proven teamwork skills.
