Description:

• The position is in the Wireless Connectivity Unit. He or she will be responsible to verify RF systems and develop hardware & software for evaluation platforms or reference designs

• Provide regular and on time reporting according to BU requirements

• Support and enable customers hardware and software to design-in ON Semiconductor’s RF connectivity solutions with first time right approach to shorten the time to market

• Develop RF hardware and software for bench evaluation and demo systems

• Investigate and solve technical issues from production and customer related modules and products

• Improve and develop new evaluation boards and reference designs for specific markets and applications

• Work in a cross-functional team to bring new wireless products successfully to market

• Update product data sheets as required to include RF parameters, schematics, and application information. Develop required application notes

• Contribute to next generation products by analyzing market and customers’ needs. Work with marketing to define custom product specifications and new product opportunities

• Help drive top-line revenue growth for the company by identifying opportunities and securing design wins with customers

Qualification:

• At least 8 years relevant experience

• Excellent academic qualifications (BSEE required, MSEE a plus)

• Experience with software development in C, C++, C#

• Familiar with the development of embedded software and tools

• Good background in programming communication protocols and low level device drivers

• Programming skills in Python, TK/TCL, perl, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Visual Basic or other software languages

• Wireless M?Bus, POCSAG, FLEX, KNX, Sigfox, Z?Wave, enocean,Thread,Zigbee,NB-IoT, 3GPP

• Experience in programming lab setups for evaluation tasks

• RF or Microwave circuit design experience down to a component level. Familiar with designing and validating RF matching networks and antennas

• Basic knowledge of radio regulations including ETSI, FCC and ARIB

• Working experience with layout software such as Altium, eagle, Allegro or others for creating printed circuit boards

• Familiar with RF measurement and test equipment and proficient lab skills

• Customer Support experience investigating and resolving customers’ problems along with training customers on new products

• Strong writing and verbal communication skills in English

• Able to influence decisions through a sense of urgency, and competitive drive

• Able to build strong, influential relationships both inside and outside of the company

• Willing to travel to customers for short assignments
