POSITION TITLE: Lab Assistant

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

PROGRAM AREA: As Assigned

REPORTS TO: Site Manager - Shanghai

BASIC PURPOSE:

Working in lab environment. Mainly to comply with Quality system requirement and accreditation of ISO17025 and CMA requirement. Provide timely support to labs instrument and reagent standards per request. Manage instrument calibration, internal and external. Backup the purchase person for instruments, lab supplies and reagents.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Working in lab environment, manage the instrument external calibration. Deliver the internal instrument check in lab.

2． Responsible for reagent and standards management for lab. Keep the record per quality system requirement.

3. Provide support to quality manager on instrument record and periodical check.

4. Be the active backup for purchase people on lab and office purchasing requirement and dealing with contract related items.

5. Perform other duties as requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree major on Applied Chemistry, Pharm, Biology, Food Science etc. relevant fields.

2. Lab working experience is preferred. Have necessary knowledge of quality system.

3. Advanced level experience with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

4. Excellent writing and oral communications skills. Fluent in Mandarin, proficient in English.

5. Capability of handling sensitive and confidential information.

6. Timely, reliable performance record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  

  

1. Experienced on Analytical Instruments such as GC, HPLC, GC/MS, LC/MS, ICP/MS.
2. Knowledge of ISO17025 system.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:

1. Required to sit for long periods of time.

2. Light physical effort required (ability to move up to 2- 5 kilograms. from one area to another).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. Work performed in an office environment.

2. Smoke free work environment.
