As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of the Robotics and Discrete Automation (RA) Business and Robotics (BL) Business Line, based in Shanghai. ABB is the World leader in Robotics and Discrete Automation (RA) Business offering a wide range of products and services including robots. Key applications include energy conversion, actuation, automation, standardized manufacturing cells for applications such as machine tending, welding, cutting, painting, finishing, palletizing and packing, and engineered systems for the automotive industry.

- Responsible for leading manipulator product design in R&D department.
- Providing concept and details design of mechanical of new product within quality, cost and timing target.
- Prepare related technical documents and BOM for manufacturing on prototyping, testing, qualification and mass production.
- Support sourcing activities, manufacturing and production functions.
- Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design field.
- Familiar with common engineering materials and corresponding manufacturing technology (e.g. casting, plastic, machining, sheet metal parts).
- With strong innovation skills and problem-solving skill
- Good Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GT&T) knowledge and design for manufacturing, design for assembly knowledge.
- Be familiar with Solid works.
- Good oral and written English communication skill.
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
