The center was established in October 2011 by Tongji University (China) and California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM).     The center has the most advanced techniques in cellular immunotherapy against tumors and in stem cell therapy in the world. It has established a stem cell clinical transformation center and a biological therapy center in cooperation with Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji University. It is a national stem cell clinical research institution and has a GMP laboratory for cell preparation. The technical system and quality control system for standardized production of CAR-T cells, immune cells and various stem cells are established. And there is a storage platform for stem cells from a variety of human tissue sources. Stem cell therapy for spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, and clinical trials of CART cells for B cell leukemia/lymphoma are in progress.
