Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with COE CEO of OMG to ensure implementation of a strong internal and external communications plan.
• Be a strong consultant to agency heads and SBU leaders for in-market communications needs for China.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of the communications strategy that positions OMG and its agencies as brand leaders in the market.
• Manage the on-the-ground media relations, issues management, crisis communications, content creation, and corporate and brand storytelling narratives.
• Demonstrate strong results in PR/corporate communication output and/or influencer relations.
• Ability to deliver a successful communications program that considers the strategic business priorities of the China business.
• Track record in handling sensitive media issues/crisis communications and providing prompt counsel/media responses.

Required skills/knowledge

• 8-10 years of experience in communications and marketing.
• Proven record in PR/corporate communication activities planning and execution – experience in corporate communications, local community engagement program, media agency, advertising, or related industries preferred
• Established local media relationship. Experience with issues management highly desired
• Strong communication skills in Chinese and English, both oral and written
• Superb organizational skills and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment.
• Experience in working with a regional and global communications team.
• Strong media relationships across business, general and trade outlets.
• Up-to-date understanding and knowledge of the traditional media and social media landscape in China.
