Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Translator will be responsible for all English to Japanese translations of Frontline’s CAM and Engineering end-user software documentation as assigned by the Documentation Team Leader.

? Accurately translate existing English-language software documentation into Japanese.

? Deliver the translated documentation in the required format (HTML help, PDF, Word), using the company’s template and following the company’s layout and style guidelines.

? Ensure that all graphics are correctly inserted into the documentation.

? Gain a working knowledge of the products you are documenting.

? Edit your work according to reviewers’ suggestions.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements

? Very good English– Required. Very good Japanese– Required.

? Ability to translate documents to/from Japanese/English – Required.

? Demonstrated ability to write in Japanese using correct grammar, punctuation and the appropriate communication style – Required.

? Detail-oriented when editing documents to ensure no errors, typos or formatting issues remain after editing.

? Able to quickly learn new computer systems and software.

? Able to manage your time according to the priorities set by the Documentation team leader and the company.

? Able to read and comprehend engineering specification documents relating to program code and software components such as GUI interface.
