Armor Division: Aftermarket Parts & Service – Armor China
Position Title: Parts and Service Technician
Position Characteristics
This technically skilled position provides full line and functional responsibilities for a department within a division. The Service and Maintenance Technician is to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the required activities and personnel pertaining to either machine service, machine auditing, parts procurement or maintenance requirements pertaining to the Aftermarket Parts and Service division of Armor located in Shanghai China.
Responsibilities
The position is responsible primarily for thoroughly evaluating (electrically & mechanically), coordinating and performing of service and maintenance activities associated with Armor manufactured products within the Asian world region. Operationally the position is accountable for the establishment and implementation of Aftermarket Parts & Service divisional initiatives, goals and programs for all Armor manufactured products. Position will require travel to ensure customer focused planning, customer satisfaction and to present/promote Aftermarket Parts & Services departmental initiatives. The Service and Maintenance Manager must have excellent customer service and management skills, experienced with large capital equipment parts and operation as well as a focused dedication to revenue growth. Duties include, but are not limited to, taking customer calls and conducting/coordinating expedited service and or maintenance activities; direct, oversee and participate in the development of the service and maintenance work plan; conduct full equipment audits for replacement parts and upgrades, assign work activities, projects and programs; review and evaluate performance, methods and procedures; establish and maintain an accurate system of accumulating and documenting service and machine maintenance data and the preparation of customer maintenance and or service quotations as required. Other accountability points for this position are:
· Develops and presents detailed machine service & maintenance initiatives and establishes associated pricing procedures based on customer requests and requirements.
· Perform onsite equipment electrical and mechanical evaluations/audits and to promote the spare parts and service activity.
· Interact and communicate with facility and personnel at the Mason Ohio facility. Work closely with Parts, Service and Installation groups to ensure that customer expectations and requirements are consistently achieved for both pre and post product delivery activity.
· Facilitate/Participate in recruiting of Aftermarket Parts & Service departmental personnel, provide and coordinate training as required; maintain adequate personnel levels based on departmental requirements.
· (If required) Exercises direct supervision over service & maintenance personnel; conducts performance reviews for subordinates and coordinates employee development and accountability.
· Prepare the parts, service and maintenance budget; assist in budget implementation; provide written explanations regarding monthly warranty charges; participate in the forecast of additional funds for staffing, equipment and supplies; administer approved budget.
· Supply factual and forecasted reports when requested on business opportunities, activity and results.
· Serve as point of contact for all service and warranty related claims for machines Armor manufactured equipment located in the region; Respond to and solve difficult and complex customer questions, problems and inquiries in a professional and expedited manner.
· Responsibility for the general management, supervision and efficient operation of Armor China’s Service and Maintenance areas as assigned in addition to other duties that may be from time to time assigned.
Skills
· High Mechanical and Electrical Aptitudes.
· Excellent Understanding of Electrical, Electrical Controls and Mechanical Machine Applications.
· Ability to Read and Comprehend Electrical and Mechanical Drawings.
· Experienced with PLC Controlled Equipment. Programming Skills Desired.
· Experienced with On Site Customer Relations and Professional Company Liaison Protocols.
· Experienced in Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
· Ability to Work Independently and be Self Motivated
· Ability to Speak, Understand and read/write English and Mandarin.
· Ability to Manage Multiple Task.
· Ability to Listen and Formulate Corrective Actions as Required.
· Is Proactive and Exhibits Initiative.
· Ability to Communicate Clearly and Concisely, both Orally and in Writing.
· Proficient at Initiating and Compiling Departmental Data and Metrics
· Proficient Computer Skills.
