Responsibilities:


Shell Cansolv (CTI) is an innovative,technology-centred company that offers its clients patented,high efficiency air pollution and capture solutions for the removal of SO2 and CO2 from fluegas streams in various industrial applications (O&G Fluid Treating,LNG,Refineries,Power Plants,CCS,Metallurgical Plants). Cansolv has over 15 commercial projects in the Americas,Asia and Europe where the state-of-the-art technology is being deployed and operated successfully.

This position is part of the China based Engineering Service team,which is responsible for producing Limited Process Packages (LPP) and Process Design Packages (PDP),which are input for the client’s Detail Design Engineering contractors. The Engineering Team also carries out engineering reviews and engineering services in the delivery of CTC projects. The candidate shall have a process engineering background and project management experience which would allow him/her to work within the team as Process Engineer.

Role: the Process Engineer is responsible to ensure quality and efficient execution of various engineering packages (EP): LPPs,Basic Engineering Packages and PDPs,to develop technical proposals for business development and to offer technical support to operating customers.

The role for the execution of EP will vary with the project and will include process modeling with ASPEN software,execution of deliverables and participation at project meetings (PID reviews,HAZOPs,etc).

The role for development of technical proposals will include process line-up evaluation,development of process design and technical writing.

Technical support to operating customers will include travel to site to assist in commissioning and start-up activities as well as performance test runs and operator training. The nature of support is to ensure that the process is operating as per the design,troubleshooting problems,optimize performance,etc.

Additional roles include providing leadership and initiatives in improvement and deployment of engineering work processes,as well as development of engineering design manuals.

Job aspects include execution of EPs and technical proposals:

- Prepare heat and material balances with ASPEN software
- Prepare and develop process lineups considering the client specific constraints
- Prepare conceptual designs and integration of process with up/downstream units
- Challenge and understand the impact of conceptual design decision on project capital and operating cost
- Prepare process flow diagrams,P&IDs,equipment sizing,pipe sizing,control philosophy etc

Requirements:


Experience and Qualifications:

- Chemical Engineering degree
- 3 years experience or more desired
- Experience in ASPEN simulations (as extra asset)
- Experience in operating environment
- Knowledge of SO2 and CO2 capture technologies and/or amine treating plants is highly desired
- Hands on mentality and flexibility essential
- Proficiency in English and Chinese language

- Demonstrate flexibility in execution and design engineering
