Within SQL China R&D, SQL Server Upgrade and Migration Team is a growing team that focuses on helping enterprises and ISVs upgrade and migrate to SQL Server, whether the destination is on premises or in the cloud. Having contributed to three major and minor releases of SQL Server since 2006, we are solidifying our framework, enriching our toolsets and solution offerings, and delivering customer-focused innovations to lower the barrier to upgrade and migrate.
As the Program Manager II, you will have the responsibilities to conduct market analysis, evaluate competitor offerings,engage with customers, collect feature requirements, and derive product specifications. You will work closely with the development and test teams on technical design, implementation, and quality & timely delivery of the components and solutions owned by the team. You will have opportunities to contribute broadly to the framework, workflow, and tools built for upgrade and migration, including its overall robustness, usability, performance, scalability, manageability, and security. To be successful in this position, you must have strong passion for the customer and great problem solving skills. Experience with RDBMS is a plus, but not required.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in designing, developing and shipping high quality commercial enterprise product(database, operating system etc.).
- 2+ years program management experience, with strong track record in project management, excellent time management and organization skills, and the ability to think holistically and critically
- Strong technical background and problem solving skills, and solid foundation on software engineering principles and software architecture design.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines.
- Expertise in one of the major object-oriented programming languages: C++, C# or Java.
- Background or knowledge in COM, .NET Framework and distributed systems is a big plus.
- BS/BA or MS in Computer Science, engineering or related disciplines preferred.

　　与本地客户和技术社区保持密切互动在微软全球研发过程中至关重要。鉴于中国市场的重要性，服务器与开发工具事业部中国研发团队通过广泛交流,有组织地参与到本地生态系统和技术社区互动中：一）通过微软技术大会（TechEd）、MSDN和TechNet等微软技术网站与广大的本地开发人员和 IT专业人员交流；二）针对目标群体推出了微软技术先行计划(TAP)，微软最有价值专家(MVP)开放日、贵宾接待等特殊项目理解客户的需求；三）与相关原始设备制造商（OEM）、独立软件开发商（ISV）、系统集成商（SI）等合作伙伴开展深入互动。2010年9月，服务器与开发工具事业部中国研发团队组建了微软中国云计算创新中心（CCIC），全力以赴地支持合作伙伴和客户顺利运用微软Hyper-V和Azure云计算产品和技术。
