The SQL Server China team is located in one of the newest R&D facilities in the greater Shanghai metropolis. It is a growing team with an excellent track record over the past three major releases of SQL Server since 2006. We are working on providing data services to help organizations of all sizes collect, manage and analyze their data and derive useful insights from it.
We help enterprises and ISVs upgrade and migrate to SQL Server, whether the destination is in the cloud or on premises. We are evolving our framework, enriching our toolsets and service offerings, and delivering customer-focused innovations to make upgrade and migrate process easy and low risk at cloud-scale.
As a Senior Program Manager, you will have the responsibilities to conduct market research, evaluate competitor offerings, engage with customers, collect user requirements, and derive product specifications. You will work closely with the development and test teams on technical design, implementation, and quality & timely delivery of the tools & services owned by the team. You will also participate in strategic planning and innovation of the next generation engineering best practices for tomorrow’s dynamic IT environment. To be successful in this position, you must have strong passion for the customer as well as great problem solving skills, communication skills, and project management experiences.
In a nutshell, you will own figuring what to do, how to do it and then making it happen all while maintaining very high levels of engineering excellence.
Past experience with RDBMS is a major plus, but not required.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in designing, developing and shipping high quality commercial enterprise product (database, operating system etc.).
- 3+ years program management experience, with strong track record in project management, excellent time management and organization skills, and the ability to think holistically and critically
- Strong technical background and problem solving skills, and solid foundation on software engineering principles and software architecture design.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines.
- Expertise in one of the major object-oriented programming languages: C++, C# or Java.
- Background or knowledge in .NET Framework and distributed systems is a big plus.
- BS/BA or MS in Computer Science, engineering or related disciplines preferred.
