Lab IT System Engineer (3rd Party Contractor)

Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide Laboratory computer and system support for a local biopharma research organization. This position is responsible for providing support standardizing the operation and security of various laboratory instruments computers closely working with IT service delivery team, provide additional support for Novartis global laboratory system, and also architect and implement IT utilities which helps local laboratory science activity.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

? Maintain computers attached to biomedical laboratory instruments including connection to network, installation of Antivirus and other management tools, which involves negotiation with laboratory instrument vendors for the procedure for above configuration

? Provide basic and advance network, hardware and software trouble shooting to customers

? Work with laboratory scientist and solution vendor to implement complex laboratory systems in accordance with Novartis policy and security guideline

? Communicate with laboratory scientists and provide improvement for experiment data management structure

? Knowledge management and transfer locally and globally

? Implement service improvements with a particular focus on customer satisfaction

? Participate in global laboratory IT community, listen and understand the global lab IT procedure and react the local laboratory computing metrics and facing issues

Minimum requirements EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum education/experience:

? Bachelor degree, preferably in computer science or engineering

? Minimum 3 years of IT support and particularly on-site hardware and network support including communication with internal customer and external vendors

Desirable education/experience:

? IT support experience in environment of variety of computers such as research institutes, factory, college or hospital

? Experience of architect and implementation of industrial systems such as laboratory automations, factory automations, PLC, robotics, monitoring.

? Working experience with LIMS system is a plus

? IT support experience in health care industry

OTHER REQUIREMENT:

? Fluency in Mandarin

? Good in Business English

? Ability to work within team through energizing self and others with positive attitude
