Purpose : ( Overall job objectives )

- To implement the purchasing strategy and source synthetic raw materials (aroma chemicals) in China market to meet the group sourcing requirement.

External Suppliers: Raw material suppliers of china area or worldwide
Internal Suppliers: Firmenich global purchasing dept., Manufacturing Mgr. Planning Mgr. Logistics Mgr. Quality Mgr.., Account Managers
External Clients: Firmenich clients
Internal Clients: Managing Director, Perfumery Div Director, Flavor Div Director., global Purchasing team, Manufacturing Mgr., Quality Mgr.

Position Qualifications : ( Education and experience )
Background: Bachelor's degree or above in Flavor/Fragrance science or food science or equivalent, or/and sales or purchasing
Experience: More than hands-on sourcing experience in a multi-national manufacturing company & in Flavor & Fragrance or chemistry industry.
Specific Knowledge: Knowledge of chemistry, fragrance & flavor science is a plus
Other Requirements: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong negotiation skills with suppliers, flexible, high level of responsibility, self-initiative, details-oriented


Responsibility:
- Achieve targets set by the management of the Sourcing activities

- Develop the supplier network in China with respect to quality, delivery time and delivery accuracy.

- Cost development targets for the raw materials for Perfumery /Flavor division purchased in China.

- Identify, develop and qualify adequate supplier base in China for Local and Global needs;

- Successfully implement development projects related to the global Sourcing activities led by sourcing managers in charge of global categories

- Ensure the targeted purchase volumes from Chinese suppliers???

- Implement purchasing policies for all dealing with suppliers.

- Visit raw material local producer, evaluate and benchmark them and qualify them as Firmenich suppliers. Implement and maintain supplier rating system

- Work closely with business divisions to identify their needs.

- Effectively negotiate with suppliers to fulfill the purchasing task and control the purchasing budget???

- Follow the trend of industry and market tightly.

- Ensure the effective running of the operations to meet the group and regional souring requirements.

- Provide up-to-date information including government policy in relevant industry in china market

- Conduct regular supply for the quality standard of all raw materials.
