Job Description:
The candidate will coordinate and scientifically support BMD/MLA external activities in the area of Biomarkers (BM) run at external partner in China. The candidate will organize and monitor BM activities in clinical studies performed by external partners and vendors, to support desease sample collection or apply previously validated methods. Additionally, this person will coordinate the exploration and evaluation of opportunities in new technologies for BMD/MLA and external collaborations on BM bio-analytical research in China/Asia.
The activity includes communication with external partners (e.g. clinical centers, CRO, central labs, bio-analytical centers), supporting contract preparation monitoring the conduct of work and quality of deliverables (in collaboration with BMD/MLA investigators).
Major activities:
- Coordinates Scientific content and plans external activities with internal teams (Project/Clinical teams, MLA groups) and with the external partner in the area of BM analysis with MS analysis
- Communicate and monitor the activity with the external partner. Ensures quality of deliverables according to predefined standards. Propose solutions to analytical and project management issues.
- Establishes and manages the required contracts (work orders).
- To contribute to strategic sourcing approaches, embedded in the External Affairs team and ensures integration and alignment with central MLA processes.
- Interacts with other Novartis functions involved with outsourced activities and with local NIBR Shanghai business functions. Contributes to resource tracking.
- Support cross-functional activities, as feasible.
- Identify problems and devise creative and workable solutions.
- Ensures appropriate documentation, according to MLA standards
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Ph.D. or MD
Languages: Fluent Mandarin and English (oral and written)
Additional Languages desirable.
Experience/Professional requirement:
- Strong background in Pharma R&D related science. Hands-on experience of bio-analytical methods.
- Strong experience to interact and negociate with KOL and stakeholders
Excellent situation adapted communication skills
- Effective Team player
- Conflict management skills
- Fable for processes and smart quality ensuring procedures
- Understanding of QC-based assay validation approaches
- Working knowledge of tools used in project management would be a plus.
