JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Commodity Manager
Reports to: Director Purchasing Commodity
Working Location: Shanghai

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for strategic sourcing for a defined sub commodity within the Complete Seat APAC Division.
• Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to commodities, including cost savings, economics, quality, supplier rationalization, working capital improvements and other key metrics.
• Maintain and update weekly cost saving roadmaps with monthly reconciliation to actual results.
• Lead Material Best Business Practices (MBBP) activities in coordination with costing and engineering to drive a competitive advantage.
• Improve the program profitability through continuous improvement, VA/VE activities and global sourcing.
• Ensure the cost, quality and time-oriented supply of all Adient plants with the required products in line with the respective business plans, budgets, targets and strategies.
• Leverage of purchases across all business units and global programs.
• Lead, motivate, support and develop purchasing staff members relating to the commodity core team.
• Develop, coordinate and steer purchasing strategies for specific commodities (suggest to combine with item 1)
• Support of proper Make vs Buy decisions

Requirements:

• Bachelors’ degree or above, major in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering.
• More than 5 years’ purchasing experience in MNC, knowledge of automotive industry is highly preferred.
• Demonstrate the ability to independently negotiate and influence different stakeholders, recognize and respond to customer expectations with sense of urgency.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with different customers/vendors.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and assist team members at the same time.
• Highly organized, results-oriented and attentive to details.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.
