Equipment Technical Service Manager

The DuPont STRATCO® alkylation technology is the leading global sulfuric acid alkylation technology and is growing a substantial client base in China.  The Equipment Technical Services Manager will function as a key service and sales client interface for aftermarket equipment and services with alkylation technology customers located China.  The alkylation aftermarket business has steadily grown globally by providing an industry leading customer experience built on technology innovation, service, quality, and trust.  Building and maintaining key customer relationships is vital to driving sales and growth.  

The Equipment Technical Service Manager will provide rotating and static equipment technical support to existing customers with a focus on driving sales opportunities through the support provided.  Equipment supported includes proprietary reactors with static and rotating elements, proprietary separation equipment, and process critical equipment.  Identifying opportunities for process improvements, technical services, training, and process consulting and studies is also part of the responsibilities.  This position will work closely with the regional business development managers to identify, develop, and close sales opportunities. 

Detailed job responsibilities include:

·         Develop and maintain assigned customer relationships to ensure that all customer support aftermarket needs are met.

·         Provide equipment support for reactor heat exchangers, reactor axial flow pumps, reactor pressure vessels, separation vessels, coalescing media, static mixers, and other process critical equipment.

·         Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the alkylation process to support equipment sales.

·         Interface with refinery equipment, process, operations, management, and purchasing personnel and develop key relationships that will support sales efforts. 

·         Identify and drive equipment sales through strong customer engagement and technical support.   Assist business development managers in proposing, selling, and closing opportunities.

·         Provide mechanical field support to assist customers with the maintenance and installation of their equipment.

·         Work with the alkylation team to develop new products and services that will help customers in China and increase aftermarket sales.

·         Support the global aftermarket alkylation team to establish and achieve annual goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:  Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred or Chemical Engineering

Experience:        Minimum 5 years’ experience with experience in refining sulfuric acid alkylation.  Experience in sales or customer interfacing roles a plus.    

Skills:                     Excellent written and oral communication skills in Chinese and fluency in English.

Strong technical skills with rotating equipment.  Knowledge of static equipment including heat exchangers and pressure vessels. 

Proven track record in developing strong relationships and meeting or exceeding business objectives. 

Ability to learn and apply technical knowledge quickly.

Travel will be required 30% to 50% of the time.
