JOB DESCRIPTION:

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

Provides maintenance support for research facilities and equipment by performing/organizing corrective and preventive maintenance measures as well as optimization of maintenance processes.

Takes a leadership role in projects or complex issues. Make sure to implement maintenance measures that ensure cost effective operation of equipment. Besides, he/she should implement BASF quality and safety guidelines.

Coaching and advising maintenance technicians and working closely with R&D teams.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Function, cost and schedule responsibility for maintenance and engineering of R&D equipment and investment projects.

Ensuring and complying with BASF SHE group directive, quality procedures and standards, information protection guideline and compliance policy.

Perform corrective maintenance and implement preventive maintenance measures for R&D equipment and facilities. Ensure correct and sufficient documentation of maintenance processes including timely and appropriate documentation in SAP system.

Continuously improve maintenance programs and practices and coach subordinates to maintenance best practices. Continuously improve current and develop new maintenance plans. Establish maintenance troubleshooting handbooks for critical equipment.

Preparation and support of engineering specific decisions, capital projects and technical measures for R&D facilities and related infrastructure.

Coordination of engineering and maintenance tasks performed by maintenance technicians, external service providers and suppliers.

Consulting and guidance of customers

Support R&D laboratories by elaboration of alternatives and concepts, cost estimates, conceptual and detail engineering, construction and installation of equipment as well as support during commissioning and start-up

Spare parts management including purchase and storage.

RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: B.Sc. or M. Sc. degree in mechanical, chemical, process engineering or mechatronics.

Working Experience:

5 years experience in maintenance or engineering department.

Experience in R&D laboratory or technical facility (technikum) is an advantage.

International experiences is an advantage

Work experiences in production process support will be an advantage

Leadership and management of a team is an advantage

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

Skilled in understanding technical documentation such as P&I diagrams and technical drawings.

Appropriate CAE/CAD skills

Skilled in equipment troubleshooting

Preferable experience in equipment reparation

Knowledge of quality procedures and GB codes

Skilled in cost engineering is preferable

Good command of spoken and written English is mandatory (an intermediate or lower intermediate level)
