As an Electromagnetic Calculation Engineer, you will be part of the Motion (M) Business and Motors and Generators (BL) Business Line, based in Shanghai. ABB is the World leader in Motion (M) Business offering a wide range of products and services including drives, motors, generators and robots. Key applications include energy conversion, actuation, automation, standardized manufacturing cells for applications such as machine tending, welding, cutting, painting, finishing, palletizing and packing, and engineered systems for the automotive industry.

You will contribute significantly to successful results in projects in Motors and Generators (BL) Business Line / Motion (M) Business in Shanghai /China country/region. You will utilize your knowledge and skills to identify and implement innovative solutions.

? Conduct electromagnetic calculations by finite element method to simulate the rotational machine especially permanent magnet motor, such as cogging torque, losses, current and so on.
? Conduct the three-dimensional electromagnetic calculation by finite element method to simulate the rotational machine in complicated situations and structures.
? Be able to undertake development project related to simulate the electrical performance of new electrical structure and materials.
? Response to write and revise the technical report related to electromagnetic calculations.
? Regularly give training on electromagnetic simulation of motors, generators.
? Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

? Master’s Degree or above, major in Electrical Machines, Electrical Control, etc.
? 3+ years of relevant work experience.
? Familiar with the knowledge of electromagnetic field and finite element method.
? Proficient in using simulation software of electromagnetic calculation.
? Good PC skills, Microsoft Office, some simulation software, ANSYS is preferred.
? Easy communication. Determined attitude. Cross-cultural work. Attention to details.
? Fluent in oral and written English and Chinese.
