JOB OBJECTIVES:
Conduct sourcing for defined area/raw materials/internal customer and ensure that competitive advantage is delivered to the internal customers through world-class sourcing. Implementation of sourcing strategies in coordination with management in line with the global GR approach, lead buyer concept, taking the GR vision, mission, guidelines, strategic tools and systems into full consideration.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Bring the utmost competitiveness for defined area of raw materials ex China to the internal customer of BASF Group Companies and business units worldwide. Ensure that an effective sourcing for such area takes place and that start-of the art sourcing strategies are implemented. In coordination with supervisor, make sure that sourcing strategies are in line with the global GR sourcing strategy, lead buyer system and fully comply to defined EHS standards and sourcing processes.
2. For the defined area of raw materials, initiate and guide the development of strategic sourcing projects, supplier selection and supplier management and negotiation process. Actively conduct supplier selection in line with global sourcing strategy and develop preferred "key" suppliers. Actively conduct negotiations in coordination with global lead buyer/global purchaser. Give guidance to team members in selection proper suppliers and help conduction supplier base management. Ensure that all aspects of the global lead buyer system and strategies are taken into account. Pay special attention to all EHS related criteria and coordinate closely with BASF expert units and GRC/KN. Align activities closely with department manager and sourcing manager.
3.For defined internal customers and business units, keep an constant dialogue and excellent communication flow. Be focal point for commercial and technical discussions and prepare and conduct visits of international visitors. Prepare contracts, agreements, negotiations concepts for such visits in coordination with global lead buyer/purchaser and management.
4. Build up fields of market expertise, research and monitor the upstream / procurement / downstream markets, understand cross dependencies, market trends, early warning indicators. Integrate this knowledge into the global Procurement Verbund.
5. In coordination with sourcing assistant, ensure that export of sourcing goods is running smoothly in full line with internal rules and regulations. Pay special attention to logistics related issues and EHS/responsible care. Coordinate need for action with management. Keep constant dialogue with expert units within BASF Group such as GRC/KN, GRL, GU and colleagues in China.
6. Ensure that sourcing database is input correctly and give input to develop EHS concepts and database further.
7. Give sourcing related guidance to team members.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor or Master Degree in Chemical related is prefered.
2. At least 5 years working experiece with international chemical companies in Procrement, Global Sourcing, Sales or Marketing.
3. Good command of English both in verbal and written
4. Good communication skills, ability to lead by influence, convincing skills.
