JOB OBJECTIVES:
Ensure that precious metal is fully tracked and recorded from the initial receipt to the eventual time of dispatch. Direct, implement and ensure compliance with all company Precious Metal policies/procedures and practices including PM theory booking, maintaining PM management system (PMPro), PM financial analysis and internal and risk controls to meet the finance & accounting standards of BASF group. This position will work at the plant site extensively with plant, supply chain and vault personnel as well as with CCM Finance and Operations team in other locations, and will report directly to the Finance Director in London for control and independence purposes.



MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the daily operations and recordkeeping related to physical and theory precious metal movements, including verification of entries to the appropriate supporting documentation. This requires close cooperation with Supply Chain Manager, Vault Manager, and Production supervisor.
2. Responsible for the customer theory booking and pool account transactions
3. Work with supply chain and vault functions to monitor the PM actual stock, ensuring that there are no un-reconciled differences between physical quantity and theory bookings by customer and metal; including witness on site of metal movement, like receipt, PM solution shipment, metal shipments to 3rd party.
4. Support the month-end accounting close, ensuring that all the postings and adjustments are reasonable and performed in a timely and accurate manner with proper controls and approvals. Work with the trading team to ensure that all metal gains and losses are priced correctly and recorded in a timely manner (usually monthly).
5. Ensure compliance by all personnel to the company's policies, procedures and practices related to precious metal transportation, receipt, shipment and storage, with being familiar of PGM plant processes;
6. Conduct and reconcile cycle counts twice a month for all precious metals.
7. Prepare monthly reconciliation of theory precious metal inventory to physical precious metal inventory utilizing SAP and PMPro, including reconciliation of all pool accounts and general ledger accounts.
8. Lead, compile and reconcile the annual physical precious metal inventory for the CCM plant.
9. Manually metal pool transfer.
10. Monitoring of various PMPro accounts (e.g. WIP and Shipping Clearance accounts/Batch reclass/Production process order monitoring etc) to ensure timely execution of entries.
11. Provide back up for Vault Manager, Supply Chain Manager and other peers as needed.
12. Perform special or ad hoc projects for the business as requested.



REQUIREMENTS:
1. Accounting Bachelor, CPA or other international accounting certificate preferred.
2. At least 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Precious metal management experience and working experience in JV or foreign-owned enterprises is preferred.
3. Knowledge on accounting & chemical production; Basic knowledge of the Refinery business.
4. Fluency in Chinese and English, both spoken and written, is required. For English, CET-6 or above.
5. Proficient with Windows 2000 or XP and Office software, Familiar with ERP concepts and applications with operational or implementation experience, preferred familiarity with SAP; Familiarity with SAP PMPro a plus.
6. Strong mathematical and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail is required.
