The Battery Management System (BMS) application engineer in this position will be responsible to develop, simulate and verify BMS control models/software for our electrified projects. Using desktop simulation, the application engineer will support the battery calibration team with the project targets regarding battery performance, durability and control accuracy.

Key Responsibilities 

? Focus on transforming BMS system level requirements into SW requirements

? Specification and development of advanced BMS control systems

? Develop test vectors to test the control strategy using UT/MiL/SiL/HiL

? Support the calibration/test team to commission and calibrate the control strategy

Everyday tasks will include:

? BMS control strategy design and implementation

? SiL/MiL/HiL PlantModel calibration + correlation verification

? BMS control system verification and calibration

? SiL/MiL/HiL closed-loop testing + analysis + reporting

? Customer interfacing for technical project discussions

? Support development of future project opportunities through client interaction and proposal generation

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Skills

? At least 2+ years experience of BMS control system requirements capturing and managing

? At least 5+ years ECU Application SW development and calibration experience for powertrain systems

? Good knowledge of battery systems and technology (SOC estimation, cooling architecture and control, protection, etc.)

? Engine/Hybrid/Transmission management system (EMS/HCU/TCM/ESP/ABS) high-level experience is beneficial

? Strong analytical approach to developing controls systems in an automotive environment

? Experienced in use of real-time calibration tools (ETAS INCA, Vector CANape, etc.)

? Experienced in test-bed and vehicle based calibration

? Experience of automotive rapid prototype control system development

? Languages: Good in written and spoken English is a plus

Knowledge

? Experience with Mathworks Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow is mandatory.

? Experience with control strategies development and implementation is mandatory.

? Qualified to degree level with technical background in hybrid and battery system design and development

? Good knowledge of rapid prototyping control systems

? Good understanding of the overall vehicle powertrain system and detailed understanding of battery systems and its control

? Experience with ETAS INCA/MDA and/or Vector CANape/CANalyzer/CANoe

? Literate in IT systems (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

? Strong knowledge of system level safety requirements and related standards (including ISO 26262) beneficial

? Knowledge of budget and project delivery control
