The Senior Director, Total Rewards Asia will be based in either Shanghai or Hongkong(location will be flexible to talk) and oversee the strategic design, development and implementation of the company’s compensation and benefit programs to reward an engaged and motivated workforce across the region and all businesses. This is an extremely exciting opportunity as the incumbent is effectively the most senior member of the VP, Global Total Rewards’ leadership team and could very well be a key player in the VP’s succession planning process.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
- Formulate pay philosophy, salary structures, develops salary budgets, and prepares policies and procedures to ensure the achievement of equitable and competitive employee compensation across Asia.
- Lead regional Rewards initiatives such as annual merit processes, benchmarking and provide strategic interventions on attraction, retention, annual merit review, variable pay for performance, and other compensation related areas to support business performance.
- Consolidate regional data for analysis and prepare detailed analytics for executive management review and decision making.
- Develop strategic and tactical plans in collaboration with site operations and business/functional teams, covering both professional level staff as well as factory direct laborers.
- Active collaboration with other HR functions such as Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and HR Operations to deliver solutions that support business growth/profitability.
- Maintain working knowledge of local legislation and regional market trends to advice business on the best strategies in a dynamic and challenging talent market.
- Monitors and evaluates the company’s benefits programs including but not limited to insurance programs, retirement plans, sick leave, medical, pension and vacation policies.
- Ensures programs are current with regard to trends, practices, regulations and costs.
- Negotiates coverage services and costs with vendors.
- Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
- Solid experience and expert knowledge in managing the Total Rewards function in the manufacturing industry across the full spectrum of employee levels and across the Asia region
- Bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline, Master’s preferred. Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of compensation and/or benefit experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing the C&B function for a multi-billion multi-disciplined complex organization, with excellent people and process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to consult and influence business stake-holders on strategic decision making
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical, financial and legal reports and present to business succinctly. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers or external communities.
- Excellent leadership qualities in working across functions, strong ethics and collaborative mindset.
- Detailed oriented and solutions driven mindset.
- Able to travel as required.
