About the role

Abcam is embarking on a number of wide ranging and interesting projects this FY19 and requires a Project Manager to support the Program Owner in managing and implementing the project plan, project budget and measuring the business results. Her/his key focus will (1) project management and (2) business results analysis

Roles & responsibilities:

Project Management:

? Drives the design and implementation of the projects at hand

? Ensures Stream Leads are managing their streams in a proactive planning and execution rigour following the same Project Management methodology, templates and reporting standards

? Tracks work to be completed, sets deadlines and determines task owners

? Proactively identifies and mitigates any potential risks – including interdependences between Streams

? Schedules, sets agendas and takes meeting minutes on behalf of the Program Owner for project check-ins as well as ad-hoc working sessions when required

?

? Documents, communicates and updates the “project plan and budget forecasts vs actuals” to all stakeholders

Business results analysis

? Determines and models how business results and anticipated impacts should be measured and assessed.

? Meticulous tracking of various implementation pieces to measure incremental benefits forecasted

About you

? Proven and seasoned Project Manager with experience in managing complex multi-faceted projects in China preferably in the life science, biotech industry.

? Solid experience in creating and managing project plans made of multi-streams

? Effective/proven track record in driving and managing project teams to deliver against project plans (including developing trust and respect with project team members; resolving barriers/risks; creating momentum)

? Analytical rigour in assessing/anticipating complex situations (state of play, interdependencies, knock on-effects of changes) – asks the right questions, detects unstated assumptions and resolves conflicts

? Highly numerate; exceptional experience in designing and delivering data-oriented analysis, which measure incremental impacts and identify implications

? Able to work/contribute independently in the production of plans and analysis (not someone who just coordinates and gathers info from others; but adds value, saves time and efforts by doing vs coordinating)

? Strong verbal and written communication skills (including preparation of clear, concise presentations and written updates; proactive recognition and praise when a milestone or business outcome is accomplished )

? Excellent Presentation and analytical skills ideally acquired in an investment banking setting or top tier management consultancy firm )

? Works with a sense of urgency with agility and a high level of energy
