The PayPal Risk Quality Engineering team is looking for exceptional software engineers interested in Quality. We are looking for engineers to help test new Fraud detection and Risk management features, enabling scalability and reliability for our rapidly growing user base. Help us minimize financial Risk for PayPal and its users and combat Fraudsters as we add new financial instruments and systems, and build out our Risk infrastructure for the future. The Manager 2 in Quality role provides an exciting opportunity to utilize your software development and management skills towards defining and implementing robust and innovative test solutions. You will need to be innovative in your approach and exercise creativity in your delivery. In addition, you will be counted on to lead the team through technical challenges the team faces. You will also be a key member in contributing and influencing the organization as a whole.

- Defining, implementing, and maintaining best-of-class processes, procedures, and tools to enhance quality engineering processes and productivity
- Driving measurable change in the company's product and code quality
- Resource allocation, capacity planning, scheduling, risk management, issue resolution and productivity metrics tracking
- Mentoring and leading their team to deliver features and updates to the site on schedule while achieving high quality objectives
- Lead team direction in API level tests for Java applications, integration tests for web services, and user-level tests for web applications.
- Performance reviews, compensation, career planning and recruiting new talent as required to manage varying work load
- Identify opportunities for improvements to the process and technology, characterize the efficiency or effectiveness gains to be had, propose specific changes to address those opportunities, and help drive the adoption of those changes.
- Influence development managers and architects to insure that appropriate levels of quality and testability is built-in to the design and code

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the architecture and quality of high volume, real-time transactional systems and possess detailed knowledge of software development best practices.
- 5+ years experience in leading engineering and quality teams
- 10+ years hands-on experience in requirements analysis, design, coding, and unit testing of scalable, distributed, multi-tiered, fault-tolerant applications in Windows and UNIX environments.
- Experience with interface testing, API, SOA, XML, and web services
- Strong experience of quality engineering, and testing complex systems.
- Comfortable working with big data, oracle and Unix environement.
- Previous experience in Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience with continuous integration test environments (Jenkins) and automation frameworks (Selenium/WebDriver/TestNG) are required

• Excellent problem solving skills and proactive test-engineering acumen.
• An ability to communicate effectively with business owners and peers (onshore and offshore) across teams
