Based in Shanghai, China and reporting to the Director of Quality in the USA, IL, the Senior QC Manager will be responsible for the assessment, management and continuous improvement of quality at Contract Manufacturers and suppliers. The Senior QC Manager will bring both leadership and functional depth as he/she drives ongoing improvements of the inspection program and the quality management systems at the Contract Manufacturers.

The Senior QC Manager will utilize their extensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems / Auditing processes to enhance/improve the products and services through the implementation of problem-solving tools, prevention methods, quality-at-the-source and continual improvement techniques.

Areas of Responsibility:

· Manage the Quality teams in China and the Asian Pacific Area. Create the inspection schedule and determine if the inspections should be carried out by a 3rd party inspection service or by a member of the company’s inspection team.

· Track and analyze the inspection expenses and the number of inspection hours worked per week along with compensation time.

· Review the Quality Processes/Programs at Contract Manufacturers to ensure finished products consistently meet or exceed the quality standards necessary for complete customer satisfaction.

· Provide technical quality problem solving and support, and lead the resolution of quality-related issues for existing product operations and new product introduction.

· Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers to continuously improve their capability to meet product specifications, process control yields and reduce waste while maintaining the integrity of the products.

· Review the Corrective and Preventive Action Program, including supplier CAPA issues. Create CAP’s to address issues, work with the factory to implement the improvements outlined in the CAP and follow up after 1 month and 3 months to make sure the improvements detailed in the CAP have been fully implemented and are effective at eliminating the issues.

· Manage timely evaluation, investigation and resolution of issues / complaints related to product quality by leading quality defect analysis and elimination efforts.

· Quantify and track cost of quality and lead the efforts to continually reduce the cost of quality.

· Communicates customer, regulatory and organizational requirements to assure product quality, contract compliance and customer satisfaction.

· Oversees the effective documentation and implementation of the quality management system to assure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements and the standards set by corporate/division policies.

Required Skills:

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

· Demonstrated experience establishing and managing quality systems with a thorough knowledge of concepts, tools and methodologies of quality management (Lean, ISO 9001)

· 10+ years’ experience in Engineering or Quality within manufacturing preferred

· Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills (Chinese and English)

· Experience with vendor quality management

· Analytical skills; statistical analysis expertise; management experience

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

· Working knowledge of quality management tools such as PPAP, FMEA, APQP, Six Sigma, etc.

· Experience working with cross-functional teams

· Strong project management and organizational skills

· Ability to work with all levels within the organization

· Ability to juggle and manage timelines and deadlines

· Ability to stay cool and calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to stay focused on the “big picture”
