Job Description

Do you like to travel? We are looking for a person to fill a Field Service Engineer role in our Service and Application department which will challenge all of your abilities.
Job Requirements
At minimum, you should be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, optical and fluidic lab devices that can be found in our XF product line. You will be interfacing with customer sites that will have different levels of understanding of the product and process. You will be teaming up with Seahorse Field Application Scientist (FAS), Manufacturing Engineers and R&D to solve issues or to collect data. You will be traveling to perform installations, preventative maintenance and repairs at customer sites. Sometimes these events will be out of your area of coverage and sometimes with little notice.
Most important is the ability to create a satisfactory experience for the customer.
Job Summary
Your primary role will be to support customers as they apply our 24 and 96 well based XF technologies to their drug discovery or research programs. This will require knowledge of both the technology and the associated biology. You will also support other instrument platforms that are under development through prototype and beta phases.
In addition, you will be asked to support introductory seminars, demonstrations and in-house trials of the technology at customer sites.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide a connection between our engineering, biology, sales, and support staff and our customers. Your oral presentation skills as well as your familiarity with the drug discovery lab equipment will be critical.
You will also participate in new product development opportunities by work with engineering, sales & marketing and assist in the investigation of opportunities for the development of customer contacts and collaborations.
Strong candidates will demonstrate their ability to troubleshoot to root cause, document all events accurately in a timely manner, contribute to manufacturing & software testing and make quick, verifiable solutions at customer sites. Heavy travel primarily to customer and collaboration sites in Asia. Occasional travel to the East Coast of the US and international travel will be required. Regular travel to support the Asia distributers will occur.
