Job Role Information

Job: Sales Manager Business Unit: Sales

Reports To: Senior Sales Manager No. of Direct Reports:  0-2

2. Brief Description of Role (i.e. purpose of role)

To develop and grow our business within a defined Region or Market sector in line with agreed Sales revenue and margin targets and the business plan.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

Key Activity 1 Responsible for Business growth in defined sector or region approx. % time   Deliver agreed aspects of the Business Development Plan under the guidance of the appropriate Senior Sales Manager   Achieve agreed sales growth objectives including revenue and margin for the business in the defined sector or region. Gain margin improvement for InterBulk and cost productivity for customers.     40% Key Activity 2 Relate market or sector knowledge to support the costing and pricing strategy  relating to regional or sector activity approx. % time Ensure that all pricing within sector is appropriate and creates value for the wider team. Liaise with the Pricing team to ensure they are kept up to date with market intelligence. Support the Senior Sales Manager in developing and maintaining en effective pricing policy   10% Key Activity 3 Responsible for managing the client at the highest level approx. % time Manage professionally, the relationship between customers and the organisation and ensure their key requirements are clearly identified, communicated and exceeded. Ensure that client network is at the highest level and is adding value Ensure that the payment of Interbulk invoices is done as per the terms and conditions of Interbulk group  Promote and sell all InterBulk services and liase with Sector/market specialists as appropriate   40% Key Activity 4 Contribute positively to the Commercial Management Team approx. % time Report on a monthly basis, sector or regional activity and support the Senior Sales Manager in delivering the Business plan Attend Team meetings as required Take on project work for the wider team as and when required Ensure that own expertise and market intelligence is kept up to date Ensure that positive communication is cascaded to wider team.   10%

Budgetary Responsibilities

Typical experience / Qualifications required for the role:

Extensive knowledge of sales and marketing within the logistics sector.

Proven track record of working at a senior level

Experience of looking after clients at a senior level

Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills

Ability and track record of growing and delivering results.

Experience of one or more sectors:  Food, Short Sea Liquid, Deep Sea Liquid, New Products, a geographical sector.
