Education Level: Bachelors degree in business or related field.

Experience Level: Senior Buyer, 5-7 years experience related to product purchasing.
Coordinator / Planner, 3-5 years experience related to product purchasing.

Job Functions/Tasks:
? Manage all aspects related to procurement of material to support prototype builds.
? Interface with internal & external suppliers.
? Prepare & issue requests for quotation.
? Review cost & timing and issue purchase orders.
? Negotiate costs & timing for components & related tooling to support established build schedules.
? Create & monitor supplier metrics for cost, delivery & quality.
? Track status of each order and update all affected parties regarding progress as needed.
? Clearly communicate TRW commercial terms & conditions to suppliers.
? Facilitate resolution of any issues that occur during the order process.
? Interface with production buyers to align the supply base between prototype & production whenever possible.
? Maintain order forecasting accuracy to track purchased materials.
? Interface with accounts receivable to resolve payment discrepancies.
? Interface with engineering, program management & prototype coordinator in order to resolve issues related to supplier performance as needed.

Knowledge and Abilities:
? Excellent communication and customer service skills (written and verbal)
? Strong negotiation & organizational skills.
? Basic knowledge of braking hardware and terminology
? Ability to work successfully under time constraints
? Ability to solve problems and drive resolution
? Basic understanding of various manufacturing processes (screw machine, stamping, machining, casting, etc)
? Proficient with MS-Office (Excel & Project)
? Familiarity with TRW business practices


Minimum Qualifications:
? Three to seven years in purchasing field, preferably in the automotive industry.
? Bachelors degree in business or related discipline
? Excellent communication & negotiation skills
? Well organized
? Proficient with MS Office applications
