Our M&A tax team has a diverse client base including large multi-national corporations, large international and mid-cap private equity funds. Our main focus is to advise clients on the tax aspects of their M&A activities in China and abroad.

Our people are allocated to specific client teams on a project by project basis, taking into account the level of experience required, development needs and availability. Project and client teams are typically cross-disciplined and advise on various types of taxes. We also advise on the tax implications of restructuring, provide tax due diligence and transaction related tax advisory services, including advising on holding / business structures and tax structuring for mergers and acquisitions. Our people are also heavily involved in advising clients on regional and global projects.

Responsibilities

- Advise clients on M&A Transactions, including tax due diligence projects on foreign targets, transaction structuring and documentation

- Advise Chinese multinationals and state owned entities on tax effective holding and financing structures, post deal restructuring and integration

- Work with and assist other senior members of the China M&A tax practice with various technical tax issues, such as valuation and transaction modeling 

- Team with other professionals to win new marketplace opportunities and engagements, and contribute to the growth of the China tax practice

- Assist with the infrastructure of the China Tax team, including marketing materials and knowledge management

Requirements

- Candidates must have 3 to 5 years’ experience in PRC tax advisory and/or tax advisory for another jurisdiction (Big 4 firms, other accounting firm or institutions, etc.)

- Experience in M&A tax, international tax and industry experience (for example sector specific experience) would be advantageous 

- Candidates must have strong English and Chinese language skills (written and spoken). Fluency in Mandarin is essential

- Candidates must have strong presentation and communication skills and confidence in dealing with domestic enterprises 

- Candidates must have excellent project management, research, analysis and report writing skills and business development skills

- Candidates should be globally minded, dynamic professionals with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and handle multiple engagements and client service teams at a global level
