Summary:
Actively design, build, monitor, develop projects and evaluate new and emerging technologies for use within the eBay marketplace. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and intimately familiar with JQuery, CSS3, Ajax, Javascript, and have proficiency for many open source tools and Object orientation programming experience. This is a hands-on engineering role.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Develop UI/web UI for eBay applications
- Design and deliver quality software according to internal and customer driven specifications
- Understand customers business and technical requirements and make sure implementation meets them
- Define, design, implement, unit test and debug complex, multi-tier software applications for eBay operations
- Planning, communicating and executing system change requests from internal customers.
- Troubleshooting issues related to production systems.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Strong communication skills both in mandarin and English
- 3+ years programming experience in large projects
- Working expertise with JQuery, CSS3, Ajax, Javascript, Java and back-and-forth data exchange
- Strong knowledge of web development technologies and protocols, including: HTTP, web services and REST
- Must have some experience with mysql, database, oracle
- Must have some experience on OO and large project implementation skills
- Broad knowledge of common applications and technologies in Internet computing (Apache, web servers, proxies, load balancers, databases, client/server, etc).
- Passion for technology

- Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, EE or related areas
