BRIEF DESCRIPTION

-  The manager system architecture leads a team of systems architects who develop and maintain the product architecture, detailed engineering product features and requirements for optical and packet data transport products used in telecommunication networks.

-  Product architecture and concepts are based on market requirements and customer feature requests.

-  He/she coordinates and leads cross-functional concept and feature teams and provides technical & directional support to R&D, product management and customer teams

-  The candidate requires an MSc or higher degree and a minimum of 4 years working experience in related areas.

    

JOB  DESCRIPTION    

- Lead a systems architecture / systems engineering team with deep technical know-how. As a team leader, assign tasks, motivate and coach team members, develop team skills and support team members in their tasks.

-  The team develops innovative, competitive product architectures and concepts for packet-optical telecommunications products based on understanding of business requirements, use cases and applicable industry standards (like ITU, IEEE).

-  The products to develop include optical network equipment, such as optical line systems, ROADMs, optical line interfaces/transponders, OTN switches and other transport and switching network elements.

    

The team’s tasks include:

·    Close cooperation with product management in defining product features and requirements and with HW and SW development and test organizations to develop product architecture and technical concepts.

·    Investigate new feature requests and customer requirements; propose feature solutions and assess feasibility.

·    Lead cross-functional feature teams to facilitate & build consensus on product architecture and technical concepts for product implementation.

·    Documentation of product architecture, requirements and concepts in clear, concise and consistent specifications.

·    Work with SW/HW development and validation teams during product implementation to clarify and resolve requirement issues.

·    Technical thought leadership and innovation capability.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

-  A MSc or higher degree in Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent education.

-  4+ years working experience in optical transport systems or related fields in telecommunications. 

-  Strong leadership skills

-  Analytical and abstract thinking, ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and work in an international environment.

-  Strong communication and presentation skills, both in English & Chinese;

-  Ability to work under pressure, self-motivated, with strong accountability.
