1) Responsible for all the responsibilities related to clicker and table cutting, including maintaining the proper cutting ways, also find out and maintain the cutting methods applied for certain leathers or styles. Strictly monitoring cutters to avoid unacceptable wastage and improve cutting yield.

2) He/she needs to be familiar with most of the leather types and the leather/quality properties.

3) Be aware of the actual styles, making test cuts, checking the recommending standard takes based on test cut results and prepare styles/leathers for bulk production.

4) Report, communicate and discuss cutting related issues on daily basis to his/her immediate superior.

5) Support his superior in any assignments. Be alerted of any problems in the cutting room and reporting immediately concerning glove quality, excessive leather consumption.

6) Make sure, that his/her cutters work properly as per our SOP.

7) Needs to learn some Chinese phrases to be able to communicate with the cutters.

8) Build up a good working team with his supervisor and with the colleagues.

Fownes Brothers established manufacturing facilities in Gloversville and Amsterdam, N.Y. in 1903. In the late 1950’s manufacturing shifted from the US and the Caribbean basin, to the Far East. First came the Philippines in 1959, then Southern China in 1984.
