Job Objective:
The primary responsibility of a business intelligence specialist is to provide BI to users within Dawson. They will gather data and provide reports on the business as well as providing technical support to these users of the company ERP and reporting software. The BI specialist should also be able to integrate the BI systems and software with existing databases and data warehouses.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Using the existing ERP system as the basis for data mining, the BI Specialist has the duty to present information to colleagues about the performance of the business and to provide reports and data to users as and when needed
? The BIS will develop the report format and report definitions after agreement with the user.
? Agree a format and frequency of report and ensure that the reports are delivered on time
? Work for improving the BI systems in the design, testing of new or modified BI systems.
? Develop a system to easily allow the production of ad hoc reports from the current ERP system
? Work with the management team to assess the long term strategic goals consulting with the end user, managers and other stakeholders for the development of BI systems.
? Troubleshoot the BI tools, systems and software and also to merge the BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
? Take care of the clients and business requirements so has to design BI front end applications according to the user requirements.
