Overview:

Rovi is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join a leading edge team that is building Rovi's Advertising Network for connected electronics. In this role, you will work closely with software engineers to create and execute automated white-box test cases as well as perform manual testing to ensure high quality of Rovi's secure, scalable, high-availablility and high-performance solutions.


Reponsibilities:

- Execute test plans, and report and track issues through resolution

- Develop automated test scripts to maximize efficiency

- Develop full functional and regression test suites to ensure complete code coverage during the test phase

- Perform load testing, locate performance bottlenecks

- Troubleshoot complex technical issues until resolution or hand-off to the development team

- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on features and usability

- Create and analyze reports relating to performance benchmarking, test plan status, and site usage statistics

- Outstanding team player and positive attitude

- Tenacious and driven when tackling tough technical issues

- Strong customer service attitude and eagerness to solve problems

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively when discussing issues with team members and customers



Qualifications:

- 2-3 years of QA experience with emphasis on automated testing (white box testing).

- Experience troubleshooting SOA applications and Web Services.

- Familiar with scripting or programming languages (JavaSript, Java, C#).

- Strong understanding of HTTP, SOAP, RESTful web services testing.

- Prefer QA experience in Advertising industry.

- Strong hands-on experience with SoapUI Pro, Jira, SVN, Wireshark will be a plus;

- Strong hands-on experience with Jmeter or other load testing tools;

- Good to have devices related web services testing [TV, BlueRay, DVD, mobile etc];

- Familiar with agile software development cycles.

- Strong analytical skills in the area of requirements analysis.

- Proven experience identifying, reporting and following up on application defects

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Test-to-break mentality and tireless pursuit of quality
