Responsibilities

• Work with Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design to assess product features for manufacturability and recommend capable processes, equipment, suppliers, etc.
• Contribute to working mechanical design reviews.
• Conduct early DOE studies and present conclusions.
• Act as the mechanical design interface between Fitbit HQ and local JDM/supplier resources.
• Review supplier tool design, process flow, equipment selection, DFM, and DOE proposals.
• Support product phase builds (proto, EVT, DVT, PVT and MP ramp).
• Responsible for root cause analysis and corrective action plan implementation.
• Own color approval process, including limit sample creation.
• Review progress of development activities at supplier locations and serve as point of escalation for critical process related issues.
• Implement validation procedures to determine acceptance of tooling into development builds as well as mass production.
• Review DFM for CNC components, optimizing fixture design, parameter and programs. Fix the issue during the process make sure the qualification successful.

 

Qualifications

• 5+ year of industry experience.
• Solid understanding of DOE (Six Sigma experience preferred), SPC techniques.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling, preferably Creo.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. Mandarin a plus.
• Experience with mechanical fabricated parts, adhesives, glues, jigs, fixtures.
• Experience with tooling and injection molding of cosmetic plastic parts.
• Solid experience supporting new product launches from a mechanical, tooling engineering, or product development perspective.
