PROJECT QUALITY DIRECTOR
Leads the Project Quality function for a Global Line of Business (LOB) to drive improvement cross-functionally for products, software, services and solutions to enhance the customer experience.
Reports to the CS&Q Vice-President of the LOB; collaborates with the Schneider Quality network and other functional leadership; advocates for the customer and leads a multi-cultural global team.
Primary role is to lead and develop an effective global team of engineering professionals to identify, analyze and permanently resolve product, software, services and solutions issues that negatively affect the customer while exemplifying a high degree of leadership and integrity.
Interact openly and communicate effectively with corporate executives and leaders in all company functions internally and externally with customers, end-users, partners, distribution channels, suppliers and vendors.
Recognize when to take a position in alignment with customer loyalty and business perspectives. The position is very critical in our pursuit to only sale products which are safe, reliable and meet or exceed customer expectations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leadership: Provide global leadership for quality initiatives, quality process and leads by example. Accountable for a global team of engineers to gather, analyze and prioritize customer experience feedback for integration into Offer Creation Process (OCP).
Ensure that lessons learnt from field experience are incorporated in the new designs and drive the continual improvement of offer quality
Ensure the new offer development from concept to manufacture follows PMP (Project Management Procedure), in conjunction with Program Manager and Project Technical Lead. Validate the Critical deliverables are met on Project Management Process (PMP) projects to develop risk mitigation plan in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing and other internal and external resources as necessary. Perform as a quality gate keeper, challenge and has a veto right at stage gate reviews
Ensure proper project risk analysis and mitigation plan are implemented: Mission Profile, AFMEA / DFMEA / PFMEA (Application/Design/process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), WCA (Worst Case Analysis), PPEP(Part Product Evaluation Plan) and ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) activities along with the program team. Ensure execution of PMP & PEP steps impacting Customer Experience.
Work collaboratively with the Quality Network to improve business process that impacts Offer Quality.
Set Strategy and Standards: develop & implement global LOB Project Quality strategy and direction, set standards and metrics for field quality and customer satisfaction for new released Offers, products, software, services and solutions.
Set team objectives for Continuous Improvement speed, permanence, and productivity.
Accountable for ability of the team to gather, analyze and prioritize customer experience feedback for integration in to New Product Development cycles.
Resource Management: Responsible for the planning of global Project Quality resources; allocate resources to quality and projects according to skill, career interests and availability.
Provide continually maturing resources to the Project Quality function by assessing team performance, providing feedback, conducting Performance Evaluations, providing training opportunities.
May need to work with external resources and functions beyond the technical areas to provide effective results.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
BS in a technical discipline, MS or MBA preferred with 10-year experience managing a global team. 5-year experience managing quality process and projects; 5-year experience in electronics manufacturing company

Highly analytic; ability lead a global team as well as to lead through influence with a global mindset; demonstrated ability for effective decision making in a dynamic environment; ability to interact at the customer and executive levels; multicultural skills
Customer centric, Open to difference, Ready to question status quo, Passionate, Straightforward and Effective. Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated capability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously; Excellent team player and enjoys working with cross-functional team on common goals
Strong English written and verbal communication skills, another language is a plus.
Project Management Process (PMP); Product Evolution and New Product Development Processes;
Field Failure Rate (FFR) / KPI's; Technical Expert assessment (TEX), Return for Technical Repair (RTR) procedures; Critical Issue Process; Offer Safety process
Knowledge in Quality and Statistical tools and techniques: SPC (statistical process Control); Cause – Effect diagram (Fishbone or Ishikawa diagram), 5 why's; Pareto analysis; 5W2H (Who, What, When, Where, Why, How, How much), Brainstorming; Affinity diagram. Problem solving methods to avoid recurrence (8D); DOE; Preferably experienced in effectively driving Design for Quality and Reliability activities like- DFMEA, FTA, MTBF prediction, Design margin check, Useful Life Analysis etc.
