Objective of Job

* Lead quality driven exterior design solutions

* Lead Advanced Design Concepts for production application opportunities

* Lead New Regional Portfolio Planning Level Design Initiative study

* Design Related Cost Reduction Initiative support

* Vehicle functional improvement - Design actionable support (Fuel Economy, Aero improvement…etc.)

Brief Task Description

* Create exterior design proposals while demonstrating exceptional design intuition, strong presentation and design communication skills to support APAC Design Studio. Design assignments will range from complete exterior bodies to singular components such as front/rear end design, wheel, exterior lighting and graphics/badging.

* Lead coordination and manage new design initiatives that are required to support local production, advance exterior model builds and show vehicle properties.

* Lead APAC design projects from start to finish by providing appropriate vehicle themes that convey the spirit of each vehicle brand (Jeep, Fiat, Chrysler)

* Support Import/Local buzz model activities link to all APAC markets (China, India…) by working cross functionally with APAC planning and marketing teams.

* Support localization, production readiness and vehicle build issues

* Research and maintain a competitive digital benchmarking library

* Manage and train junior EXT/INT designers and help develop a competent regional design team

Qualifications

Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, or BS in Industrial, Product, or Automotive Design

Experience:

* 5+ years of automotive exterior and/or interior product design experience

* Some experience of leading a team and have executed EXT/INT projects as the principle designer

 Skills & Competence:

* Working knowledge of Alias, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Visualization Software(VRED)

* Strong presentation and design communication skills

* Ability to create both production and advanced design proposals while demonstrating exceptional design intuition

* Ability to artistically represent 2D and 3D concepts using a wide variety of presentation techniques, including manual/digital sketching, ALIAS, Photoshop and/or similar programs

* Experienced with manual and digital sketching

* Ability to work with a project team of technical engineers, clay sculptors and fabrication specialists

* Must possess an exceptional awareness of the global state of automotive design concepts and emerging design trend
