1. Providing overall leadership and management of all corporate and commercial legal matters.
2. Participating as a member of management for providing legal and business counsel and upholding high ethical standards and legal considerations which must be taken into account when decisions are made.
3. Advising the Company on the litigation risks of possible business decisions, providing preventive counseling with respect to the legal risks associated with business practices.
4. Provide accurate, prompt and robust legal advice to the business on day to day operational matters and on mergers and acquisitions (where applicable) while ensuring legal risks are identified and managed. 
5. Ensuring adequate protection of the organisation’s intellectual property protection 
6.  Instructing and managing external lawyers and legal costs with the approval of Management.
7. Providing legal training and updates on new laws and regulations in accordance with the business needs.
8. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, with a particular focus on contracts in the manufacturing or food production industry.
9. Has to handle legal matters that involve Labour and Company law including dealing with the various levels of governmental and quasi-governmental authorities.
10. Special projects including research and reports as requested by Management.

SATS sees tremendous growth opportunities outside of Singapore and the non-aviation fast/casual food service segment has been identified as a fast growing industry in China. Apart from providing services to various Chinese and foreign airlines at the airports in China, SATS has established various joint-ventures, acquired companies and also build our own central kitchens in different parts of China. At the end of 2018, SATS has also established its Greater China Regional Headquarters in Shanghai to better manage the different entities and also chart the strategies for more aggressive growth moving forward.
