POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Manager role will be to lead and oversee all HR related operations in Asia for a leading European skincare company. The role is expected to lead the HR team (6-8 professionals) to develop, advice on and implement policies relating to the effective use of personnel within the organization. The HR Manager will work with senior management team to strategize and implement HR best practices across Asia and potentially the global organization. The position will be expected to take on the people management functions that underpin the business culture. The HR Manager will help strategize and direct all matter related to employee relationships, organizational structure design, compensation and benefits, reward, professional growth and career planning, communications and performance management.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and direct the Human Resource team to deliver a comprehensive HR service to the business in Asia with primary focus on China
- Translate company strategies into operational Human resource objectives and action plans
- Recruitment & retention: recruiting and retaining talent that support’s the company’s growth strategy and business culture; managing talent and succession planning; taking overall responsibility for recruitment activity and campaigns
- Act as an ambassador all employees across different functions and backgrounds; promote the corporate and working culture, and positive values within the organization for all
- Employee Relations managing career planning, absence, disciplinary actions, grievances, sickness etc. Measure employee satisfaction and identify areas that require improvement
- Performance management: design and implement a performance management system, work with managers on performance management issues and processes
- Development &training: review and improve the training and development agenda; identify areas that need attention and improvement
- Policy & procedures implementation of new HR policies, procedures and processes
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date in line with current employment law. Ensure dept. managers are up to date with changes to any policies.
- Working with senior management team and advising on all people issues
- Deal with complex disciplinary/grievance and HR issues, using HR and company knowledge evidencing appropriate decision making skills
SKILLSET AND CAPABILITIES:
- Commercial minded, able to think HR practices connecting with deep understand of business
- Super communication skills navigate across various departments and regions
- Ability to think strategically and analytically and to represent the Human Resource function as part of the big business picture
- Ability to assess potential candidates and existing employees across various dimensions including: hard skills, cultural fit, leadership style, motivations and etc.
- Ability to build rapport and trust quickly with key members of the management team
- Experience of dealing with senior and sometimes challenging individuals
- Confident directing HR and advising managers on all aspects of people management and development
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations in China and Asia countries.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum bachelor’s Degree required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 5+years’ experience in a HR management role
- Consumer retail and FMCG experience preferred
LANGUAGE:
- Business fluency in Chinese and English
