Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

• As the CTC Lexan product technology manager, lead the local team to support Pacific growth for all Lexan products through new platform/NPI, raw material qualification, manufacturing support, and customer issue support • Work with Lexan LX technology manager to grow Kayan PC resin business in the Pacific and support new PC resin plant in China • Work with cross functional teams to understand the local market dynamics and the competitive landscape • Carry out recruiting, coaching/mentoring, and evaluation of team members as needed • Ensure local team’s EHS and compliance objectives are achieved • Provide timely communication within the global technology group as well as with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer/Material Science or equivalent education • Creative with passion for technology• Visionary, out of the box thinker, open to ideas, global mindset• Strong leadership skills and accountability• Strong global and cross functional communication skills, team player; • Highly motivated, self-starter, and high energy • Demonstrated capability to work and deliver on multiple programs• Excellent analytical skills; • DFSS/DMAIC project management skills• Ability to solve problems and handle diverse responsibilities

Desired Characteristics

Prior Work Experience/capabilities:• Multiple years of relevant product development experience in the area of engineering thermoplastics • Demonstrated capability and strong track records of technology innovation and delivery• Proven skills in managing people and leading cross functional teams

GE中国研究开发中心（CTC）是GE公司四个全球研发中心之一，是跨业务集团、跨研究领域的研发机构，为GE各业务集团提供基础科学研究、新产品开发、工程开发和采购服务。

中心坐落于上海张江高科技园区，占地面积47,000平方米，于2003年5月投入使用，是国内最大的独立外资研发机构之一，也是国内极少数具有基础科学研究能力的企业研发中心。

GE中国研发中心现有研发人员1400多人，60多个拥有世界一流设备的实验室，其研究力量主要集中在以下领域：

• 清洁能源，包括洁净煤、风电、太阳能发电等；
• 水处理与海水淡化；
• 材料科学，包括纳米材料、晶体、陶瓷，材料分析；
• 电力电子和实时控制；
• 先进制造技术；
• 影像技术；
• 化学技术，如导电高分子，电化学技术;
• 传感与检测技术；
• LED照明；
• 交通运输等

GE中国研发中心每年完成100多个研究项目。截至2009年底，GE在中国的研发人员共申请了450余项专利。
