A professional who can implement his engineering understanding through an effective and efficient way to win company business opportunity over competitors, overlook the product development and technology and also can provide training to those engineers in the Group assigned.  This position reports to Director of Application Engineering.

Responsibilities:

 

1. Provide leadership in technical support to Sales and Marketing teammate for assigned OEM accounts in the Group. Responsible for annual Engineering budget related to the assigned accounts and job performance level.

2. Responsible for determining product development and technology for OEMs in the Group assigned. Supporting to Director of Application Engineering to determine new model of product necessary. Overlook and review project progress with Application Engineer within the Group.

3. Efficiently develop required turbocharger(s) to meet customer’s needs.  The final turbocharger(s) must be economically and practically able to be put into production.  Detail tasks include issuing questionnaire, preparing matching proposal and design work requests, searching and procuring test hardware, developing  project schedule, and predicting development cost.

4. Take leading role in production releasing development turbocharger when it is accepted by customer.  Provide all technical documents and data, e.g., Item Master, Bill of Material, turbocharger outline drawing, etc., as well as test report(s) required for production release of the final development turbocharger.  Actively communicate with associate departments as trouble a team member to ensure smooth production of  released turbocharger. 

5. Provide technical support to meet customer’s needs in terms of turbocharger assembly/disassembly, engine testing, vehicle testing, installation, field shooting, and engineering consultation.

6. Provide engineering training to application engineers when requested, such as turbo matching, hardware searching and procuring, testing, data reduction.

7. Serve as acting Director of Engineering when the Director is absent.

8. Provide turbocharging maintenance/trouble shooting class to each OEM at their request.  Also, when asked, provide training or advice to colleagues outside Application Engineering department.

9. Carry out instructions from direct supervisor in an effective and timely manner.  Write trip report for each business trip.  Submit Monthly Progress Report to supervisor.

10. Actively involve in Six-sigma Plus programs and apply Six-sigma Plus  principles to daily works to solve problems.

11. Observe Honeywell’s Code of Conduct.

 

Requirements:                      

1. College or university graduate with an engineering degree and minimum of ten (10) years experience of turbocharger and/or engines. 

2. Management experience is required.  Must be able to communicate with people in both Mandarin and English. 

3. Computer skills such as using Microsoft software are required.
