This is a position reporting to Software Development Manager. The Principle Software Engineer will be responsible for create large-scale architecture of messaging platform or major sub-system. The successful candidate will be a top performer and versatile professional leading the design, development and implementation of messaging platform at eBay. This position will be based in Shanghai.

Leading to create large-scale architecture of messaging platform or major sub-system

Creates architecture consistent with enterprise architecture standards, guidelines and principles and works with Engineering to ensure that implementations are consistent with the spirit of these principals.

Understands the broader business context around their area and develops architecture and influences implementation to support it.

Work with other engineers, product management, QA and Operation team in different locations to lead product design and code reviews; can competently review any aspect of their product or major sub-system; leads and collaborates on solutions across teams within a business unit.

Able to evangelize innovations, through prototyping or other means; identifies opportunities for Engineering productivity improvements or directions, and evangelizes these successfully.

Provides leadership within their team, frequently interfaces with other functional teams' leadership and is frequently consulted by Directors throughout their Vice President's organization.
