Our client company is an US leading global coatings manufacturer, offering coating products for the home to automotive refinish and specialty coatings. With the fast positive expanding in Asia, they are seeking for a Senior Tax Manager (Asia) to join in their talent team and in charge of around 20 legal entities within the Asia region.
Report to: International Tax Director (Based in US) & APAC CFO (Based in Shanghai)
Subordinates: 2~3
Location: ZhaBei District, Shanghai
Position Summary:
? Manage the overall corporate tax function for the Asia operations of the group. Includes strategic planning, tax returns or other government reporting, and financial accounting for income taxes
? Serve as a tax advisor to senior management in Asia
? Carry out strategic tax planning for the region in alignment with company goals
? Lead efficient tax compliance and reporting process within Asia.
? Manage government tax audits.
? Coordinate and communicate with the corporate tax department in Minneapolis.
? Take a leadership role in establishing a tax function within our recently created Asia shared service center.
? Take a leadership role in simplifying the company's legal structure in China while maximizing tax benefits
Responsibility:
? Manage the development, implementation, and administration of tax planning strategies, company policies, and financial procedures in Asia.
? Develop appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with tax management principles and practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations; monitor compliance with these areas.
? Monitor new and pending legislation and determine organizational or group response to issues and changes.
? Manage government tax audits and reviews including responses to inquiries, discussions with tax officers, and negotiations of settlements where necessary.
? Supervise tax staff including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and providing compensation recommendations.
? Work closely with the corporate tax department to manage transfer pricing used in the Asia region and to ensure regional tax compliance and efficient tax management in transfer pricing related matters.
? Facilitate meetings with other internal and external departments on tax-related matters.
? Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
? 8 years of related professional tax and accounting experience
? Experience dealing with tax authorities in Asia (particularly in China)
? Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent education; Master's degree in Business Taxation or a related field is preferred. CPA is preferred.
? Fluent in English, Native Speaker of Chinese
? Strong technical tax knowledge, Good working knowledge of accounting concepts. Experience with FAS 109 (ASC 740) is a plus
? Strong communication skills
? Common sense approach to problem solving and organizational management;
