Senior or Staff Application Engineer

To further strengthen our Timing Products Team at our Shanghai office, we are looking for a Senior or Staff Applications Engineer.

Essential Job Functions: As part of the applications engineering management team for Timing products, you will interface with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Design Engineering with a focus on customer technical support and new product design-ins within the greater China area.

• Able to manage and prioritize tasks from both internal and external stakeholders
• Actively work with customers on design and debug activities with a focus on RF timing signal chains and SyncE/1588 compliant systems
• Perform schematic, layout reviews for new customer design wins, and on-site trouble shooting to meet customer’s development schedule.
• Write product datasheets with applications section, applications notes, design articles and demo board manuals with all text, graphs and diagrams.
• Travels as needed to support Tier 1/2 customers and strategic partners

Education and/or Experience: 3+ years related experience in semiconductor or System Company with master degree above (or 5+ years with bachelor)

Preferred Skills & Knowledge: We are looking for highly experienced candidates with experience in timing products, in particular, the area of Synchronous Ethernet / IEEE-1588 and high performance wireless timing found in RRU, BBU, or server so on.

• Strongly understanding of complex timing devices, with a background of debug or testing devices with complex digital-PLL architectures and/or timing devices clocking ADC/DACs.
• Experience with serial communication protocols, such as I2C, SPI is required.
• Knowledge and deep understand of lab equipment, such as real-time oscilloscopes, phase noise analyzers, spectrum analyzer, etc. (note: will be asked to demonstrate ability in lab).
• Software programming skills including Python for debug scripting and firmware customization is preferred
• Timing device optimization including loop filter, bandwidth settings, input/output delay functionality, phase noise and other parameters that heavily influence high performance timing trees
• Fluent in both Mandarin and English.
• Strong communications skills and open to travel as necessary.
