Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer develop, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence processes, and quality associated with the manufacture of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Interfaces with supply chain in the selection/qualification of new components. Interfaces with quality to establish quality methods and metrics. Estimates EMS manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Support EMS product lines during daily operations by defining and leading the resolution action plans to make sure the manufacturing is under control. Responsible for reducing costs and improving efficiency through the implementation of lean manufacturing methods. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of EMS manufacturing operations.

Measures of Success:

• To coordinate transition of new products and product enhancements from concept through the manufacturing process to a PR’d product. Achieves this by working with OPMs, EMS and Project teams.
• To coordinate with R&D and EMS to provide the DFM/DFT reports from manufacturing/structure test perspective. To drive R&D to close/improve the design issues from design beginning to product PR (production release).
• To ensure all manufacturing related technical issues of product are resolved during the entire product life cycle. This includes Manufacturing Proto, Pilot and MP runs. And make sure the new product ramp to PR with high quality.
• To ensure product availability, quality and cost goals are met in EMS manufacturing.
• To monitor the production and efficiency targets in EMS. Recommend and report on production process improvements such as, efficiency, cycle time, downtime, yield, resource utilization, ergonomic and cost reduction opportunities and other efficiency and continuous improvement efforts.
• To works with EMS on corrective actions for process related field returns.
• To works with EMS during the implementation of new processes and methods to ensure product quality.
• To work with EMS on ECO/DVA implementation, to ensure the quality meet target.
• Monitor all issues/yield rate from verification/proto build/pilot build and take the lead to implement RCCA by driving use of quality methods and tools before each project gate
• Weekly monitor EMS quality status via review weekly report, tracking open PO quality status

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor or Master in degree as electronic or industrial engineer.
• 3—5years working experience in EMS factory as PE/ME/NPI engineer is preferred, familiar with SMT,DIP assembly ,package process.
• Prefer to familiar with Valor/fabmaster or other parallel DFM/DFT software.
• English and Chinese language at a level sufficient to be autonomous in technical meetings.
• Basic knowledge of electronic boards’ failures analysis.
• Experience PCBA and system assembly manufacturing is preferred.
• Lean manufacturing / Quality tools such as flow charts, Value Stream Mapping, Control plan maintenance, Process FMEA, Production variance Cp/Cpk analysis, problem solving.
• Capacity to travel frequently.
• Experience in leading complex manufacturing problem solving.
• Ability to work under pressure by maintaining a collaborative work environment striving to deliver reliable and lasting solutions.
