Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer (steel fabrication)

Report to: Supplier Quality Manager

  

Location: China, Shanghai, Pudong Metso office

  

  

  

JOB STATEMENT

  

  

• Responsible for supplier onsite quality management of steel fabrication and machining parts;

• Responsible for customer claim management and support on supplier action plan;

• Responsible for supplier audit and 8D report follow up;

      

  

  

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (in addition job statement)

  

  

• Supplier technical support and discussion with global technical and quality team;

• Onsite inspection for steel fabrication part and process control;

• Work on supplier process and quality performance level development;

• Support the operative purchasing and procurement on analysing the non-conformities and claims relating the supplier management and achieving corrective actions internally and among suppliers;

• Responsible for developing and updating supplier quality plans, including production process flow, operation instructions in plant, quality control methods during the key processes;

• Responsible for other tasks assigned by manager.

            

  

  

RELETIONSHIPS

  

  

• Report to China Supplier Quality Manager;

• Work together with China Procurement Team on supplier management;

    

  

INTERANL AND EXTERNAL INTERFACES

  

  

• Potential and existing suppliers;

• China Procurement Team and Plant QA team;

• Global Quality and Procurement team;

• Other internal departments if needed;

        

AUTHORITY

  

  

• Work under supervision of China Supplier Quality Manager.

  

  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  

  

• Bachelor degree who was major in welding or mechanical Engineering.

• At least 5 years’ experience at steel fabrication project, preferably working experience in heavy equipment manufacturing industry.

• Experienced in welding and NDT (better with Certificate) is required, if with knowledge at mechanical Engineer will be better.

• At least 3 years supplier quality management experience, familiar with quality management tools like 8D method, Control plan and FMEA etc.

• Experience in ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 or other related will be better.

          

  

  

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  

  

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, parts manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Well at computer usage, familiar with normal office software.

• Familiar with normal inspection tooling.

• Fluent English skills is a must.

• Can bear frequently trip in China.
